Kimball Midwest, a national distributor of maintenance, repair, and operation products, is searching for an Accounting Services Specialist for our Columbus, Ohio location.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for assisting with daily administrative tasks with new accounts, tax exemptions and address validations.

  • Responsible for assisting with daily administrative tasks associated with new account creation and maintenance, sales tax, accounts payable, and address validations.
  • Provides exceptional service to customers, sales representatives and internal staff
  • Contacts sales representatives to obtain any missing new account details to ensure accurate customer account records
  • Efficiently sets up new accounts, including Choice accounts, manual accounts, and Sales Reps accounts
  • Professionally handles calls and voicemail
  • Assists with tax certificate requests and preparation of sales tax audit requests as needed
  • Works closely with other departments to ensure smooth processes
  • Interacts with customers, sales reps, and internal associates to resolve discrepancies, answer inquiries, and maintain positive relationships

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent: some college is preferred.
  • General business experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, co-workers supervisors, and managers; in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to handle confidential information and use discretion while performing job tasks.
  • This position requires computer literacy -- specifically Microsoft Office and excel.
  • This position requires the ability to read and write small letters and numbers; the ability to make arithmetic calculations; and the ability to understand written and oral instructions.
  • This position requires an individual who is dependable (i.e. reports to work daily, barring any unforeseen circumstances).
  • The successful completion of a ninety (90) day orientation period

 

Additional Information

Monday - Friday, Hours: 8:30am-5pm. This role is onsite.
