Position Summary

The Activity Director is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering a high‑quality Life Enrichment program that supports residents’ physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and spiritual wellness. This role leads activity staff, collaborates with caregivers and nursing teams, and ensures that programming meets the unique needs of both Assisted Living and Memory Care residents.

Primary hours are Monday-Friday. This person may occasionally work irregular hours depending on activities and will be on the Manager on Duty weekend and holiday rotation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership — Create and manage a monthly activity calendar featuring group activities, individual engagement and wellness programs.
  • Memory Care Engagement — Develop dementia‑friendly, activities tailored to residents with memory loss.
  • Team Supervision — Lead, train, schedule, and support activity assistants and volunteers.
  • Resident‑Centered Planning — Assess resident interests and abilities to ensure personalized, meaningful engagement.
  • Community Partnerships — Coordinate with local organizations, entertainers, schools, and volunteer groups.
  • Event Coordination — Plan and execute holiday events, themed parties and gatherings, and special programs.

Qualifications

  • Experience in senior living, activities, recreation therapy, or Life Enrichment preferred.
  • AI Experience Preferred — Comfortable using AI tools for scheduling, creative planning, and communication.
  • Musical Ability Preferred — Ability to lead music programs.
  • Employee Management — Experience supervising, training, and scheduling staff or volunteers.
  • Event Planning — Strong background in planning and executing events, programs, and community activities.
  • Highly Organized — Excellent time‑management, multitasking, and administrative skills.
  • Strong understanding of dementia care and Memory Care programming.
  • Excellent communication, creativity, and leadership skills.
