The Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing the nursing function in the Continuing Care Retirement Community.   Responsibilities: Supervising all nursing staff and ensuring staff provides quality resident care that meets or exceeds regulatory standards. Oversees nursing department budget. Oversees and manages nurse leadership positions in the community. May assist with duties of other nurse leadership positions as needed. Assists with hiring and onboarding, training, development and retention of nursing staff. May be designated to assume responsibilities of daily operations of the facility in the Executive Director's absence. Communicates with physicians, residents, and family members regarding resident health and plan of care. Ensures nursing staff are trained on new policies and procedures. Participates in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings. Completes reports and audits in a timely manner. Ensures nursing documentation and assessments are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with community policies.  Reviews restorative nursing procedures for each resident so as to achieve the highest possible degree of function, self-care, and independence based on resident choice, where practical, in collaboration with the MDS Coordinator. Oversees and participates in nursing on-call rotation. Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.
