We are Harmony Hills Behavioral Health (HHBH), a longstanding residential treatment facility serving adults with primary mental health disorders, in central Florida. We are in Altoona, FL, less than one hour North of Orlando. Our serene, rural setting allows guests to heal away from the stresses of everyday life. We seek an experienced Lead Line Cook to join our team! 


The primary responsibility of the Lead Line Cook is to prepare meals and to serve our guests. The Lead Line Cook will perform food preparation duties, and will provide backup support services to the Culinary Manager for tasks such as scheduling staff, ordering supplies, and will also serve as a point person for situations that require a higher level of decision-making. The role works within a team and all kitchen staff are required to maintain the food service equipment in good and safe working order, and to follow the health department health safety guidelines. This position requires excellent punctuality and reliability. The Culinary Program is viewed as a key component to the success of treatment while at HHBH.

Schedule:

  • Lead Line Cook - FT status / on scheduled from 6a - 7p / holidays and weekends


The experience BHT should meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Minimum of (1) years of experience as a Lead Line Cook in a clinical environment or mental health facility. 
  • Able to work the schedule as above noted. 
  • Able to pass a AHCA level 2 background check. 


Essential Job Functions:

  1. Comply with applicable sanitary, health, and personal hygiene standards
  2. Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products
  3. Cook food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
  4. Understanding of cooking methods and procedures, and knife handling skills
  5. Set up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
  7. Clean and sanitize cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
  8. Perform inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
  9. Clean and organize work areas, equipment, utensils, and service station.
  10. Follow guidelines to ensure correct serving temperatures and adequate portion control.
  11. Escalate guest concerns and complaints to management.
  12. Always strive towards an exceptional guest experience.

Pay: $17 - $20/hour

Education: H.S. Diploma

Experience: Culinary in Clinical Environment 1 year (Required)
