Quality Control Inspector – Automotive Accessory Manufacturing

Location: Altoona, IA

Employment Type: Full‑Time

Shift: Monday-Thursday, 5 a.m to 3:30 pm. Overtime as needed.

About the Role

We’re looking for a detail‑driven Quality Control Inspector to join our automotive accessory manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll ensure that every part leaving our facility meets the highest standards of precision, durability, and OEM‑level quality. If you take pride in catching issues before they become problems, this is your kind of environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Inspect Incoming Materials to verify plastics, metals, fasteners, and electronic components meet engineering specifications.
  • Perform In‑Process Inspections during fabrication, assembly, finishing, and packaging stages.
  • Conduct Final Product Audits on accessories such as interior trim, racks, running boards, lighting components, and interior/exterior add‑ons.
  • Use Precision Measurement Tools including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment.
  • Identify and Document Defects and communicate findings to production and engineering teams.
  • Support Root Cause Analysis and corrective action initiatives.
  • Maintain Accurate Quality Records for traceability and audits.
  • Ensure Compliance with internal and customer‑specific requirements.
  • Promote Safety and 5S Standards in all inspection areas.

What You Bring

  • Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or quality inspection
  • Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
  • Comfortable using measurement tools and documenting results
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift 35–50 lbs as needed
