Adventureland Park - Security AgentRoles & Responsibilities:
Â
Enforce all Park rules and regulationsÂ
Monitor Park assets with intent to ensure the safety of all our guests and hostsÂ
Maintain constant vigilance while the park is operating to identify any potential issues or safety concerns communicate any potential issues to other departments and/or leadership in a timely mannerÂ
Conduct bag checks to prevent prohibited items from entering the parkÂ
Maintain compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe environment for colleagues and guestsÂ
Monitor guest safety and communicate conflicts to supervisors on dutyÂ
Take control of emergency and intense situations while remaining calmÂ
Professionally manage crowd control during emergency situationsÂ
Continuously monitor guest behaviors and attempt to curtail any potential situations before they escalate furtherÂ
Exercise clear and concise communications with all park departmentsÂ
Answer phone calls, providing pleasant and helpful phone contact for staff and the public.Â
Assist in safety prevention efforts, including responding to all safety calls, fire alarms, and emergencies.Â
Utilize electronic card access, closed circuit television, and other audio/visual monitoring systems, monitors and supervises the response to all reports or irregular conditions, including the unauthorized entry of persons or vehicles to protected buildings and areas, breaches of perimeter security or any other suspicious activities occurring on the property.Â

Education and Experience:Â
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent Equivalent work experience will also be consideredÂ
1+ year of previous security or related experience highly desiredÂ
Â
Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.Â
Requirements:Â Â Â
Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor LawsÂ
Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysÂ
Must be able to work third shift (overnight) if the park security operates on a 24-hour scheduleÂ
Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shiftÂ
Must possess a valid driver’s license and a good driving recordÂ
Ability to safely and efficiently operate motorized vehicles and equipmentÂ
Ability to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructionsÂ
Ability to apply knowledge of security methods, procedures, interviewing, listening, and note-taking techniques for specific situationsÂ
Ability to deal fairly, objectively, and courteously with the public without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, or political beliefsÂ
Ability to analyze people and/or situations quickly and calmly and take appropriate actions in a quick and effective mannerÂ
Ability to operate a variety of electronic equipment, such as cameras, radios, personal computers, or other communication devicesÂ
Ability to professionally and calmly deal with stressful and/or tense situationsÂ
Ability to collaborate with other hosts, external first responders, and emergency personnel during emergency situationsÂ
Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional mannerÂ
Ability to maintain certifications as required by assignmentÂ

Physical Requirements:Â
Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workdayÂ
Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shouldersÂ
Ability to walk, stand, or run on uphill, downhill, or uneven surfaces.Â
Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time, while using a computer/camera equipmentÂ
Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or moreÂ
Must have good visual acuity, night vision, and peripheral vision.Â
Ability to see details of objects that are more than a few feet awayÂ

Working Conditions:Â
This role will be based in both an office setting as well as frequent exposure to all other indoor and outdoor park environmentsÂ
Frequent exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditionsÂ
Subject to dark environments, particularly during midnight shiftÂ
Subject to constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, flashing lights, and heavily populated environmentsÂ
Subject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activitiesÂ
