Position Summary and Responsibilities:

This position is one of direct contact with customers. This position has to be knowledgeable and aware of all products in inventory. Interact directly customers both in person and by telephone, to provide information in response to inquiries regarding products and services and resolve complaints.

  • Responsible for taking and entering orders at will call center in person, by phone, or computer.
  • Responsible for petty cash box. Must compile all sales invoices and paid vouchers and balance on a daily basis. Return cash box to safe at end of the day.
  • Keep records of customer interactions or transactions, recording details of inquiries, complaints, or comments as well as actions taken.
  • Must be able to handle large amounts of both incoming calls regarding products and in-person orders.
  • Contact customers as needed regarding orders, additional products and services.
  • Research records in computer or hard copy files to retrieve information related to customers or vendors.
  • Must possess and demonstrate a helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, and trustworthy attitude toward customers and co-workers.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Internet software; Order processing systems and Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, etc.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. One year experience and/or training in a Customer Relations position preferred.
  • Must be familiar with keyboard and data entry.
  • Ability to multitask.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
