Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

The Certified Surgical Technologist Lead provides clinical expertise, leadership, and operational oversight within the assigned specialty service. This role supports high-quality patient care, staff development, efficient service operations, and strong interdisciplinary collaboration while aligning with hospital values, regulatory requirements, and current standards of practice. 

Job Requirements: 

• Must hold and maintain certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or NCCT certification if practicing prior to 2009. 
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• Completion of a CAAHEP-accredited or other nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists. 

Preferred Job Requirements: 

• 3-5 years of experience as a surgical technologist.
