Sanitation Laborer 3rd Shift Clean-up

Key Duties/Responsibilities

The Sanitor will clean assigned plant areas and equipment using a combination of dry pickup, hot water and chemicals always following the safe procedures for each chemical and task.

• Using a combination of chemicals, water, and cleaning tools the sanitor will clean floors, walls, ceilings, and equipment as assigned
• Will lock out equipment following SSI Lock-out procedures prior to beginning any equipment cleaning
• Communicates any equipment damage or issues to supervisor
• Participates in chemical training and strictly follows guidelines, rules, and regulations regarding specific chemicals
• Complies with all SSI, federal, state, and local regulations, guidelines, and policies
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to work in and around equipment. 
• Ability to read at a basic level to understand risks on SDS or chemical labels.
• 6 months previous sanitation experience required.

Physical Requirements

• Regular periods of standing and walking in a cooler environment (35 to 45 degrees F)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. 
• Ability to work in a cold and hot wet environment.
• Ability to move in, around and under equipment.
