POSITION SCOPE AND PURPOSE: Hands on molding and machine troubleshooting position. Responsible for the improved operational uptime of the facility and systems through an expanded Preventative Maintenance program.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Monitor and maintain preventative maintenance program through IQMS.
  • Repair, adjust, maintain and re-assemble machines, mechanical and hydraulic equipment.
  • Troubleshoot primary and secondary manufacturing equipment 
  • Troubleshoot, repair and fabricate production equipment; welding, cutting, assembly, painting, finishing.
  • Regular attendance.


OTHER POSITION DUTIES:

  • Monitor the operations of and maintain all plant equipment in top working condition.
  • Install and hook up new equipment as needed.
  • Maintain and enhance existing PM program.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as directed.
  • Responsible for compliance with lockout/tag-out and OSHA requirements.
  • Determine and order appropriate materials and parts needed for service/repair of equipment and facility.
  • Suggest/recommend enhancements to the Preventative Maintenance system.
  • Responsible for compliance with lockout/tag-out and OSHA requirements.
  • Communicate with production supervisors and scheduler as to the status of equipment and arrange scheduled down time for routine maintenance.
  • Maintain production equipment and auxiliary equipment; supporting manufacturing with daily needs and following ISO work instructions and OSHA requirements.
  • Grounds maintenance as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; electrical and hydraulic training preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience to include maintaining injection molding machines.
  • Good troubleshooting and mechanical skills with ability to read blueprints.
  • Strong background in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and robotics.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Valid driver’s license

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • Very heavy work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment and to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
  • The worker is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions: 
  • The worker is subject to noise, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases vibration and hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, and exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
