Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The BSN Faculty member is a 9-month appointment, and is eligible for renewalĀ based on performance and departmental need. The BSN Faculty member is responsible for theĀ development, delivery, evaluation, and continuous improvement of the RN-to-BSN curriculum. TheĀ faculty member provides leadership in course design, curriculum mapping, program assessment,Ā and innovative educational practices that prepare graduates for professional nursing practice.

In addition to responsibilities within the RN-to-BSN program, there may be opportunities forĀ teaching in the summer term and as program needs arise, supporting the nursing program’s commitment to high-quality, student-centered nursing education across programs.Ā 

This position collaborates with faculty colleagues, laboratory coordinators, simulationĀ coordinators, clinical coordinators, healthcare partners, and university stakeholders to ensureĀ intentional alignment of didactic content with skills laboratory instruction, simulation experiences,Ā practicum experiences, and clinical practice environments. The faculty member contributes toĀ curriculum innovation, accreditation activities, and continuous quality improvement efforts thatĀ support program excellence.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and two years clinical experience

  • Current unencumbered RN license or eligibility for RN licensure in the state of Iowa

  • Evidence of expertise in nursing education, curriculum development, and program evaluation.

  • Demonstrated experience in higher education teaching in nursing.

  • Knowledge of nursing accreditation and IBON standards, regulatory requirements, and nursing competency frameworks.Ā 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in RN-to-BSN curriculum development and revision.

  • Experience with program development, curriculum mapping, and accreditation processes.

  • Experience aligning didactic curriculum with laboratory, simulation, and clinical learning experiences.

  • Experience with concept-based curriculum design, competency-based nursing education, and the integration of learning experiences that support the development and assessment of clinical judgment.

  • Experience with learning management systems and educational technologies.
