Northcrest Community has a great opportunity for a friendly and caring individual to join our Driver Team. Drivers may work 3 -Â 15 hours per week and provide transportation services to the residents of Northcrest Community. Day hours are a must! Flexibility and availability for evenings and occasional on-call weekends rotation is required.Â
This position is a permanent, year-round role.
A Class C-CDL is necessary. Passenger Endorsement is preferred and must be obtained as soon as feasible. Driving experience preferred. Drug test required. Â Â

Requirements
- Drug test participation
- Day, evening, and on-call rotating weekend availability
- High school education or GED equivalent
- Maintain a current Iowa driver’s license, chauffeur’s license and/or CDL
- A Chauffeur’s license is preferred but not required
- A Class C-CDL, with passenger endorsement, is preferred but not required
- Candidates with a Class C-CDL, required (must maintain medical clearance with a DOT physical)
- Driving experience preferred
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide transportation services to Northcrest residents and their guests or accompanying staff member(s) as scheduled
- Check vehicle for road worthiness prior to each trip, report any problems to the Transportation Coordinator
- Secure wheelchairs to ensure the safety of wheelchair bound residents during transportation
- Report all accidents immediately to the Transportation Coordinator and CFO
- Follow work schedule agreed upon between yourself and the Transportation Coordinator
- Maintain cleanliness of Northcrest vehicles as directed by the Transportation Coordinator and Northcrest policies
- Shall be reachable during scheduled working hours for notification of pick-up and transportation changes
- Shall be available to serve on-call from 8AM – 8PM Saturday and Sunday, as designated
- Assist in maintaining an environment of warmth and care throughout Northcrest’s campus
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all co-workers to ensure that resident services are provided without interruption
- Follow all Northcrest policies and procedures
- Attend all departmental and mandatory staff meetings
- Maintain a clean driving record
- Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information to ensure resident rights are protected
- Follow the Northcrest Privacy Policy (HIPAA)
- Report all grievances and complaints made by residents to the Transportation Coordinator
Additional Assigned Tasks
- Treats all residents with dignity and respect. Promotes and protects all residents’ rights
- Establishes a culture of compliance by adhering to all facility policies and procedures. Complies with standards of business conduct, and state/federal regulations and guidelines
- Follows appropriate safety and hygiene measures at all times to protect residents and themselves
- Maintains confidentiality of protected health information, including verbal, written, and electronic communications
- Reports noncompliance with policies, procedures, regulations, or breaches in confidentiality to appropriate personnel
- Reports any retaliation or discrimination to HR Manager or CFO
- Reports any allegations of abuse, neglect, misappropriation of property, exploitation, or mistreatment of residents to supervisor or department leader
- Protects residents from abuse, and cooperates with all investigations
- Reports any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, infectious materials, and/or hazardous chemicals in accordance with facility policy
- Participates in life safety and emergency drills and trainings, as requested
- CPR certification is optional
- Fulfills responsibilities as assigned during implementation or activation of the facility’s emergency plan
- Reports work-related injuries and illnesses immediately to supervisor
- Follows established infection control policies and procedures
- As a condition of employment, completes all assigned training and skills competency

- May be subject to falls, burns from equipment, and/or odors throughout the day; encounter reactions from dust, disinfectants, and other air contaminants
- Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases and/or conditions which include AIDS, Coronavirus, Hepatitis B, and Tuberculosis
- May be subject to hostile or emotional residents, family members, visitors or personnel
