About the Position Â
We’re seeking a senior email marketing coordinator to lead PFI’s email marketing communication by creating, designing, editing and distributing engaging email communications. This role is also responsible for analyzing campaign performance and implementing processes to improve the consistency and efficiency of email marketing. In addition to email marketing, this position supports PFI’s broader digital communications strategy by creating social media content and occasionally updating website content. Â
This position will help PFI expand our network and connect more farmers and landowners to our programming. This position will join the hard-working, curious and ambitious marketing and communications team whose main goal is to help expand PFI’s reach and impact.
DutiesÂ
- Develop stories and content for PFI’s weekly newsletter, Practical News Â
- Edit, design and layout monthly email newsletters cross-functionally with PFI’s farmer-led education teamÂ
- Develop content for PFI’s social media channels, including Facebook, Instagram and LinkedInÂ
- Design and implement processes to ensure consistency and efficiency of email marketing workÂ
- Facilitate collaboration between departments and teams to achieve project deliverablesÂ
- Manage capacity and budget efficiently to complete marketing workÂ
- Analyze email and social media metrics and report resultsÂ
- Respond to public inquiries, requests for resources and communications across email discussion groups and social mediaÂ
- Support digital marketing manager in maintaining PFI websiteÂ
- Other duties as assigned or volunteered to support department or team projects.Â
Required Qualifications and CharacteristicsÂ
- Strong understanding of email marketing best practices, including audience engagement, subscriber list management and newsletter productionÂ
- Three or more years developing and implementing email marketing campaignsÂ
- Manage and maintain email lists, including keeping subscriber lists accurate and up-to-date and creating segmented lists for campaigns such as events and fundraising  Â
- Develop, document and improve standardized processes for email creation, review, approval, scheduling and distributionÂ
- Experience writing and publishing social media content in a professional settingÂ
- Strong understanding of social media best practices and trendsÂ
- Strong written communication skills with ability to write for diverse audiences and channelsÂ
- Editing and proofreading skills with strong attention to detailÂ
- Gather content and input from multiple departments and stakeholders to coordinate email production from concept through deploymentÂ
- Strong organizational and time management skillsÂ
- Ability to establish and maintain governance for organization-wide email communicationsÂ
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and facilitate timely review and approval of email communicationsÂ
- Ability to identify trends and recommend strategic improvements to email communication practicesÂ
- Ability to manage multiple communication channels simultaneously while maintaining quality and consistencyÂ
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlinesÂ
- Ability to receive feedback and make changesÂ
- Ability to work independently and within a teamÂ
- Flexible, adaptable and a self-starterÂ
- Willing to try new things and learn new skillsÂ
Desired Qualifications and CharacteristicsÂ
- A degree in marketing, communications or related field preferredÂ
- Basic understanding of agricultural production in Iowa   Â
- Experience using Salesforce  Â
- Experience using analytics tools to evaluate digital communication performanceÂ
- Experience with website content management systems, WordPress preferredÂ
- Ability to respond to member inquiries and fairly enforce community guidelines in a discussion group settingÂ
This is a full-time position with potential for hybrid work. There is a minimum requirement of one to two days per month at the Ames, Iowa, office and seasonal travel around Iowa and surrounding states. The beginning salary range for this position is $55,000-$59,000 with annual opportunity for salary increases and position advancement.
