The successful candidate will be joining a team that includes two medical oncologists (DACVIM), one remote radiation oncologist (DACVR-RO), four medical oncology residents, three technicians, one radiation therapist, and a local consulting team of radiation physicists. The oncology service is very active in research with multiple ongoing clinical studies in both medical and radiation oncology. The Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center is a newly constructed and renovated building providing a state-of-the-art teaching, learning, and working facility. In addition, plans for a Small Animal Cancer Clinic at the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center are scheduled to begin construction in 2026.  The Small Animal Cancer Clinic will feature dedicated Oncology workspaces, including a centralized lobby, fully equipped exam rooms, clinician and technician offices, and a designated rounds room for student teaching.

This position offers a unique opportunity to grow and shape the radiation oncology program at ISU, which has a strong clinical caseload, varied teaching opportunities, and the potential to reinstitute a Radiation Oncology residency training program.  The role also offers flexible opportunities to engage in additional consulting practices, enabling professional growth tailored to individual interests.
