Position Summary: Assist EHR Team in the development, design, documentation, training, implementation, and reporting within the EMR system and associated applications.


Responsibilities of Position: 

  • Expert in the understanding of the eClinicalWorks including practice management and electronic medical record, its functionality, features, associated interfaces, clinical applications, databases and third party applications.
  • Provide analysis, automation and improved workflow solutions to the medical, clinic support and other support staff based on analysis of end-user clinical and business requirements, problems, workflow, procedures, and systems.
  • Develop end-user documentation tools such as protocols, policies and procedures, manuals / guides, video’s, etc. that support and allow for highly effective training programs.
  • Provide end-user training programs across medical, clinic support and other support departments. Identify, train, and mentor team of EHR “super-users” across the organization.
  • Identify and develop efficiencies and uniformity with regard to capturing structured data, order sets, clinical rules engine, clinical decision support tools, alerts and health outcomes data.
  • Develop business, clerical quality and outcomes reporting that support strategic, operational and population-based information and metrics.
  • Primary relationship establishment and maintenance with EHR vendor, interface application vendor, third party application vendors and community health information exchange providers / partners. 
  • Project planning and EHR optimization, development of workflow efficiencies, compliance and quality reporting objectives.
  • Ability to learn various organizational applications, such as RIS/PACS, electro diagnostics, and other applications as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

Skills & Experience Necessary: 

  • Experience in providing application design, integration, documentation development, training and support within clinical setting. 
  • Ability to produce end-user documentation and develop and deliver highly effective training programs across a large span of professional to include physicians and mid-level providers, clinical and support staff.
  • Understanding of clinical and business process and workflow with the ability to observe and offer technical support and automation.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
  • Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • General working knowledge of office equipment, including computer, fax, and multi-line phone system.
  • Working proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
  • Medical Terminology preferred
  • General office skills, including strong typing skills.

 

Required Education 

  • Associate’s degree in business, technology, education or related healthcare field and 2 years related experience in a clinical setting preferred.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Minimal/moderate physical effort
  • Works in seated position, in front of a computer screen long periods of time
  • Regular fine hand manipulation
  • Requires some lifting usually not in excess of 10 pounds
