The ZLC Group is looking for motivated Entry Level Staff Accountants to join our team, working in either our Amherst or Orchard Park, NY offices. This is a great opportunity for a new or soon-to-be graduate looking to build a career with hands-on mentorship and structured training.

From your first day, you'll contribute to meaningful client work, collaborate with professionals at every level, and build the practical skills that will serve you throughout your career.  While working at The ZLC Group, you’ll also be included in our buddy and mentorship programs to help you grow while you learn the profession.

What You Will Do: Real Work from Day One

•      Conduct financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations for a variety of clients, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations

•      Prepare detailed audit workpapers and maintain organized documentation to support audit findings and conclusions

•      Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including tax professionals and advisory specialists, to provide comprehensive solutions to clients

•      Assisting and preparing tax returns for both individuals and various business entities, including federal, state and local tax returns

•      Communicate with clients to gather information and answer basic inquiries

•      Stay current on federal and state tax law changes

Qualifications

We are looking for driven graduates who bring curiosity, energy, and a positive, team-first attitude to everything they do.

•      Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, with CPA eligibility

•      Less than one year of experience — perfect for new or soon-to-be graduates

•      Actively pursuing, or eligible to sit for, the CPA exam

•      Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

•      Proficiency with Microsoft Office and a tech-savvy mindset to quickly pick up new software, including audit and tax platforms

•      Strong written and verbal communication skills

•      The ability to work independently and as part of a team, while maintaining a high level of quality
