Valley Medical Group is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our Endoscopy team and work in our Ambulatory Surgery and Procedure Center located at our Amherst Medical Center. If you are looking for a dynamic environment, this is your opportunity!

Position: Medical Assistant - Endoscopy

Location: Amherst, MA

Hours: 32 hours, 4 days/ week, generally between 8:00am-4:30pm. Hours may vary depending on department needs.

As a Medical Assistant in the Ambulatory Surgery and Procedures Center Endoscopy Suite, you will be part of our clinical team responsible for preparing equipment and procedure rooms according to established protocols and assisting the physician and RN in the implementation of the established plan of care and during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet and prepare patients for assigned procedures
  • Complete vital signs for patients
  • Preparation of equipment, including endoscope cleaning, and procedure room according to established protocols
  • Maintain the pre- and post-procedure patient care area 
  • Accurate documentation in the EMR

Required Qualifications: 

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Successful completion of an approved Medical Assistant program and/or active EMT or CNA license.
  • CPR certified

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an Ambulatory Surgery and/ or Endoscopy Surgery setting
  • CMA or RMA preferred but not required
