$30.29 - $38.75

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

THE UCC SOCIAL WORKER/THERAPIST FUNCTIONS AS A MEMBER OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ROCHESTER COUNSELING CENTER SENIOR STAFF GROUP. THEY PROVIDE PSYCHOSOCIAL ASSESSMENT, DIAGNOSIS AND BRIEF THERAPY TO UR STUDENTS. ASSISTS IN COMMUNITY REFERRAL AND MAINTAINING COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIPS FOR REFERRALS.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides direct individual, couples and group mental health care services to UR students using various short term psychotherapy treatment approaches. Creates treatment plans based on assessment data and clinical interview. Routinely revises treatment plans based on client’s progress toward treatment goals and life situation needs. Summarizes progress and recommends alternatives to students at the completion of the course of care.
  • Provides intake assessments, clinical triage, and mental health crisis management services for students. Provides careful diagnosis, assessment, and evaluation using standard UCC psychometric instruments and clinical assessment interviews.
  • Completes timely documentation of care in the electronic medical record including initial evaluation, assessment, treatment reports, progress notes, referrals, communications, treatment planning and progress on treatment goals according to guidelines set forth by UCC/UHS policies and procedures and in keeping with generally accepted standard for mental health care delivery.
  • Attends regular meetings of UCC staff to create and review policies and procedures and to discuss individual treatment efforts and general prevention strategies for the college population.
  • Provides case management for students seeking community referrals or who have a supportive planning agreement with the university.
  • Other duties as assigned


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Master’s degree in Social Work required
  • Bachelors degree in the area of public health, health promotion, health policy, or health education preferred.
  • Three years of full-time clinical experience preferred
  • Experience working with an ethnically diverse college-age population preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience required


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with expertise in a team setting preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to develop and maintain clear record-keeping systems preferred.
  • Ability to work evenings and/or weekend days preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • NYS certification and licensure, or other equivalent education/certification and licensure required
