SECURITY GUARD

Responsibilities

• Protect company’s property, buildings, grounds, staff, patients, and visitors by maintaining a safe and secure environment
• Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate disturbances
• Act lawfully in direct defense of life or property
• Apprehend criminals and evict violators
• Take accurate notes of unusual occurrences
• Report in detail any suspicious incidents
• Patrol randomly or regularly buildings, grounds, and perimeter
• Monitor and control access at building entrances, vehicle gates, and parking lots
• May transport employees and/or patients as needed
• Other related tasks as assigned within the scope of responsibility for the position

Skills  

• Proven work experience as a security guard or relevant position
• Trained security officer with diploma
• Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
• Surveillance skills and detail orientation
• Integrity and professionalism

Required Qualifications

• Valid and Active NYS Security Guard License
• NYS Driver's License with clean driving record
• High School or Equivalency Diploma
• Speak, read, and write English

Preferred Qualifications

• Law enforcement background
• Experience in psychiatric or general healthcare facility
