Role Purpose
The Document Control Assistant supports the Planning and Operations teams through effective document control and administrative coordination. This position is responsible for maintaining technical document revision control, electronic filing of documents within the Pinnacle database system, and timely distribution of document packages to Operations and other departments to ensure accurate and efficient production support.
Scope & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform assigned duties in accordance with documented procedures and work instructions
- Maintain technical document revision control to ensure current revisions are properly released and obsolete documents are removed from circulation
- Electronically file and organize controlled documents within the Pinnacle database and related systems
- Prepare, distribute, and track document packages, travelers, drawings, work orders, and supporting manufacturing documentation to Operations and other departments
- Verify accuracy and completeness of documents prior to release and distribution
- Coordinate document updates and revision changes with Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams
- Maintain records of document revisions, approvals, and distribution history
- Support production planning activities through preparation and organization of manufacturing documentation
- Assist with retrieval of documents for audits, production support, and internal requests
- Maintain confidentiality and security of proprietary company and customer documentation
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to document control and planning processes
Work Experience & Skills
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical coursework preferred - Experience:
- 1–3 years of experience in document control, planning support, manufacturing administration, or related field preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or aerospace environment is a plus
- Skills / Knowledge:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with ERP systems, document management systems, or electronic filing systems preferred
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of manufacturing documentation and revision-controlled environments preferred
