Overview

This position will be responsible for painting the interior of the hospital.  Will be required to operate paint brushes, rollers, mixers, spray equipment, plaster and patching trowels, sanders, ladders, tile cutters, etc.

 

  • This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of AHMC Anaheim Regional Medical Center. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values of AHMC Anaheim Regional Medical Center. The employee shall support AHMC Anaheim Regional Medical Center’s strategic plan and goals and direction of the performance improvement plan.  The employee will also be expected to support all organizational expectations including, but not limited to;  Customer Service, Patient’s Rights, Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care and Regional Care initiatives.
  • Responsibilities

     Provides a safe and sanitary environment for patients, family, staff, and self.

  • Ability to properly use hand tools – paint brushes, rollers, mixers, spray equipment, plaster & patching trowels, sanders, ladders, tile cutters, etc.
  • Performs proper preparation of surfaces to be painted, tiled, or new floor installation.
  • Performs proper techniques on painting surfaces, equipment, and flooring.  Work performance is free of any paint drips, sagging, and runs on final projects.  All project areas are clean of old drippings and scraped off surfaces to present as acceptable.
  • Maintains paint inventory of various department colors.
  • Ability to properly use patching materials for walls, adhesive materials for flooring and thinset grout material for tile.
  • Properly dispose of waste and cleans area before end of shift.
  • Cleans tools in designated area.
  • Maintains supply stock and organizes paint storage area.
  • Ability to prep wall prior to installation of wallpaper by applying wallpaper adhesive and utilizing utility knife for cutting wallpaper.
  • Qualifications

    Education/Training/Experience

    • High school graduate or equivalent related experience preferred
    • Must have minimum of one year’s experience in painting.
    • Knowledge of different types of paint. (Latex, oil and enamel, stains, primers, patching compounds.)  
    • Working knowledge in various mechanical hand held tools required in the performance of the trade.
    • Working knowledge of scaffolding and ladders.
    • Ability to read, write, comprehend and communicate effectively
    • Previous experience within the healthcare industry preferred
    • Basic computer skills preferred
    • Ability to interact effectively with patients, customers and associates in a way that exhibits superior integrated customer service and teamwork
    • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy while directing co-workers
    • Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks effectively and efficiently
    • Excellent organization and problem solving skills 
    • Ability to work within defined time constraints
    • Ability to take initiative and follow through
    • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
