About the Role:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility systems, machinery, and utility equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, welding experience, and the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of equipment used in daily operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on recycling yard equipment and machinery.
  • Maintain and repair equipment such as forklifts, loaders, skid steers, balers, conveyors, compactors, trailers, roll-off bins, and other yard equipment.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.
  • Conduct equipment setup, installation, and calibration as needed.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety standards and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain and repair equipment such as forklifts, loaders, skid steers, balers, conveyors, compactors, trailers, roll-off bins, and other yard equipment.
  • Perform welding and fabrication repairs on containers, trailers, structural components, and metal equipment.
  • Repairing and maintaining utility equipment such as trailers, forklifts, pumps, compressors, and generators.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.
  • Install, assemble, and test new equipment or machinery.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
  • Support operations teams to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required
  • 2+ years of maintenance, repair, or related technical experience.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and general facility systems.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and power tools
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
  • Prior experience working in a commercial or industrial maintenance environment.

Salary Range: $21-$25
