Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Must be a High School Graduate
  • Must have completed 12 units in Early Childhood Education or in a program to achieve this.
  • The ability to work cooperatively with, and take direction from, other adults
  • Must be able to understand and support the program's philosophy. Must pass Dept. Of Social Services clearance checks.
  • Be CPR and First Aid certified

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following but not limited to:

  • Help implement program activities under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher.
  • Coordinates small group activities like arts and crafts, cooking etc.
  • Supervise napping children without the supervision of the classroom teacher.
  • Help ensure that a healthy environment is evident at all times and in accordance with all State requirements.
  • Playground supervision with appropriate child to teacher ratios during various weather conditions
  • Assists with distribution and clean up of lunches and snacks Assists with children during restroom breaks & accidents
  • Assists with set-up of classroom daily Assists with classroom behavior
  • Assists with injuries and filling out necessary paperwork
  • Demonstrates professionalism and contributes to a positive work environment
  • Assists with parent pick-up and drop off and extended day activities
     

Pay: $23.92 per hour plus benefits

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Primarily an office/classroom position.  May require significant degree of intermittent walking, bending, stooping, reaching and stretching for long periods of time.  May require lifting of up to 40 lbs.
