Position Summary:
The Press Brake Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining Amada-style press brake machinery to produce precision sheet metal components. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet production and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
Main Job Duties:
- Perform brake operations on Amada-style press brake machines per work orders and fabrication drawings
- Read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings for accurate setup and operation
- Apply knowledge of bend deductions and bend allowances to meet dimensional tolerances
- Produce parts efficiently while maintaining required quality and cosmetic standards
- Perform in-process inspections and complete required documentation
- Confirm operations in ERP systems and complete production records
- Perform preventive maintenance on press brake equipment
- Report part or equipment defects to supervisor promptly
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all safety regulations and supervisor instructions
- Collaborate with team members to support production goals
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of press brake (sheet metal) experience required
- At least 6 months of manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience with Amada or Amada ASTRO robotic brake systems preferred
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:
- Strong blueprint and mechanical drawing interpretation skills
- Knowledge of press brake setup, tooling, and operation
- Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with shop equipment (saws, drill presses, etc.)
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Ability to stand/walk for full shift and perform physical tasks
- Ability to kneel, bend, and lift up to 40 lbs
- Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment
