Alaska Hearing and Tinnitus Center is seeking an Audiology Support Specialist to join its team in Anchorage, Alaska. This role assists the audiologist with daily clinical and administrative tasks to improve patient flow and practice efficiency.
The position primarily provides hands-on audiology and hearing-aid support, with a portion of the day spent assisting with front-office responsibilities. Previous audiology experience is not required.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday
Key Responsibilities
- Clean hearing aids and perform basic maintenance and repairs, including replacing tubing, domes, wax guards, battery doors, microphone covers, and windscreens
- Troubleshoot hearing-aid concerns and escalate clinical or technical issues to the audiologist as needed
- Support the audiologist with patient flow and daily clinical needs
- Contact patients who are due for service, warranty checks, annual exams, or follow-up care
- Address recall issues promptly and efficiently, coordinating with the audiologist and the manufacturer as needed.
- Keep the hearing aid lab organized, clean, and well-stocked
- Greet patients and assist with check-in and check-out
- Answer phones and schedule appointments
- Assist with general front-office tasks and administrative support
Qualifications
- Experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred; Medical Assistant, Dental Assistant, or similar experience is a plus
- Comfortable working directly with patients in a clinical setting
- Comfortable learning hearing aid technology, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Strong computer and administrative skills
- Ability to manage both clinical support and front-office responsibilities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures
