Description

  

Enterprise Engineering, Inc. is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to work on commercial and government designs, manage projects and work on a team with junior engineers. Lead Design Engineers apply thorough knowledge of engineering and construction materials related to evaluation and design, working collaboratively with multiple disciplines, project managers and clients. The design work is on site civil design projects and petroleum, oil and lubricant (POL) systems. Civil work on the projects typically consists of utility, site layout, grading and drainage design as well as the coordination with multiple other disciplines.


  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produces engineering plans, written technical specifications, engineering calculations, and cost estimates commensurate with technical abilities under the general supervision.
  • Performs project site inspections and data collection, including periodic travel to project locations, domestic and international.
  • Develops designs to maintain technical quality and accuracy of work.
  • Develops company spreadsheets and computer models under general supervision.
  • Produces computer-aided design (CAD) drawings while developing plan documents applying standard techniques and procedures. Apply company CAD standards.
  • Collaborates with and provides direction to CAD drafters when developing design documents.
  • Communicates and coordinates directly with client, subcontractor, and vendor personnel.
  • Pursues obtaining technical certifications related to company and department business lines.
  • Develops and maintains technical capabilities under general supervision, learning and staying current with industry codes and standards.
  • Prepares permit applications.
  • Performs job grade level tasks independently.
  • Under general supervision, performs assignments in accordance with Enterprise Engineering Inc. and industry standard engineering techniques to ensure overall technical quality meets client and corporate requirements.
  • Assists and mentors junior civil engineers in their efforts to develop technical capabilities.
  • Assists with developing cost proposals for engineering designs and assessments.

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum. 
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
  • Ability to obtain U.S. military base access through completion of a comprehensive background check. 
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Experience as a lead design engineer on civil projects.
  • Willing and able to independently travel periodically to project locations, domestic and international (approximately 10-20% annually).

  • Maintain applicable safety training certifications (First-Aid, OSHA, EM-385, etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge and application of design software.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project).


Physical Requirements

  • Work predominantly in an office environment. Occasional outside work in various conditions.
  • See, hear and communicate with others in varying conditions using various methods. 
  • Travel independently for varying periods, both domestic and international. 
  • Lift or move up to 50 lbs. 
  • Sit or stand for sustained period.
  • Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.
  • Walk, stand, crouch on uneven surfaces.
