Licensed Veterinary Technician, Surgery

$23.00 – $33.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. Sign-on or relocation bonus available! $1,000 annual CE allowance.

Full-time opportunity in Anchorage, Alaska at Pet Emergency Treatment (PET)

Schedule: Full-time, 36–40 hours per week; 10-hour shifts, day schedule

Located in Anchorage, between the Chugach Mountains and Cook Inlet, our hospital is a vital part of the state's veterinary community. We're seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) or experienced Veterinary Technician who thrives in a fast-paced surgical environment and finds fulfillment in compassionate, skilled patient care.

In your day-to-day, you will:

  • Provide surgical and nursing care in alignment with doctor's orders
  • Prepare patients, surgical suites, and instruments for procedures using aseptic technique
  • Assist veterinarians during surgical and specialty procedures
  • Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia
  • Place IV catheters
  • Calculate and administer medications
  • Perform in-house lab work and sample analysis
  • Support patient comfort and communicate updates with clients
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture

What You Bring

  • At least 1 year of veterinary technician experience, in a surgical or emergency setting
  • Credentialed Technician (LVT/CVT/RVT) highly preferred, not required
  • Experience with anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Proficiency in surgical prep, instrument handling and sterilization
  • Organized, compassionate, and calm under pressure
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care
