Description
Under supervision the Monitor Technician (MT) is responsible for cardiac and oximetry monitor surveillance for monitored and telemetry patients. Responsible for reporting rhythm changes and potentially lethal rhythms to a Registered Nurse following outlined workflow. Interacts directly with physicians regarding the interpretation of cardiac rhythm patterns or changes in patterns. Maintains a safe, hazard free and clean environment which facilitates quality patient focused care.

Position is Full Time, 0.9 FTE, Night Shift, 36 hours per week. Located onsite at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska!

Required Qualifications:
- Coursework/Training Verification of completion of basic EKG cardiac rhythm recognition course required with-in six (6) months of hire
- 6 months experience working in a healthcare or institutional setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework/Training Medical terminology course
- Coursework/Training Verification of advanced cardiac rhythm recognition course
- 6 months experience monitoring ECGs in an area that has the capability to monitor at least 16 patients

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
