We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Welder/Fabricator who enjoys building things and working with their hands. Extensive welding experience is not required. We are willing to provide additional welding training to someone who has a strong foundation in construction, fabrication, maintenance, or other general trades.

What You’ll Do

As a Welder/Fabricator, you will help build aluminum and steel frames, structures, and decorative products from drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Measure, mark, cut, drill, bend, fit, and assemble aluminum and steel components
  • Perform MIG welding and basic fabrication work
  • Use saws, grinders, drills, clamps, hand tools, and other shop equipment
  • Read tape measures, basic drawings, dimensions, and fabrication instructions
  • Lay out and square frames and assemblies before welding
  • Build custom products and assist with prototypes or product modifications
  • Inspect completed work for correct dimensions, fit, appearance, and structural quality
  • Identify fabrication issues and communicate questions before work continues
  • Repair or modify existing products when needed
  • Move materials and finished products safely throughout the work area
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and an organized workstation
  • Follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment
  • Assist in other production or facility-related tasks as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience with construction, fabrication, maintenance, metalworking, carpentry, mechanical work, or another hands-on trade
  • Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
  • Comfortable using common hand tools and power tools
  • Basic welding knowledge or a willingness and ability to learn
  • Good mechanical reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow drawings, instructions, and established production processes
  • Attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team
  • Willingness to receive feedback and continue developing new skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • MIG welding experience
  • Experience working with aluminum or light-gauge steel
  • Construction, metal building, trailer repair, maintenance, farm, or equipment-repair experience
  • Experience using grinders, chop saws, band saws, drills, and fabrication equipment
  • Ability to read basic shop drawings or fabrication prints
  • Experience building frames, gates, railings, fixtures, or similar structures

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

This position requires regular physical activity in a manufacturing environment. Employees must be able to:

  • Stand and work on their feet for extended periods
  • Bend, reach, kneel, climb, and work in different positions
  • Regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Work around welding equipment, sparks, heat, dust, noise, and moving equipment
  • Wear welding helmets, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and other required PPE
  • Safely perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks

What We Offer

  • On-the-job welding and fabrication training
  • Opportunities for advancement and increased responsibility
  • BCBS Health insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid vacation and holidays
  • Stable, year-round employment
  • A team-oriented workplace focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement

A Good Fit for This Position

This could be a good opportunity for someone with construction or general trades experience who wants to develop stronger welding and fabrication skills.

The ideal candidate is dependable, understands how things are built, can measure accurately, is comfortable using tools, and takes pride in producing straight, square, clean, and well-built products.
