Data Governance Manager

Anderson University's Office of Institutional Research invites applications for a 12-month, full-time, Data Governance Manager. The Data Governance Manager will lead the development and implementation of a university-wide data governance program, establishing policies, standards, and procedures to ensure institutional data is accurate, accessible, secure, and aligned with regulatory requirements and university priorities. This position will oversee data stewardship, quality, reporting alignment, lifecycle and retention practices, and campus-wide data governance initiatives. The Data Governance Manager will facilitate governance committees, including the Data Governance Board and Data Governance Steering Committee, leading training, documentation, and communication efforts to promote data literacy and will serve as a campus resource for data governance practices.

A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, Data Analytics, or a related field, along with 1–2 years of professional experience in data management, analytics, data governance, or a related area, is desired. A master’s degree and professional certification, such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), are preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of higher education data regulations, including FERPA. Experience with enterprise systems, data governance practices, higher education, or data governance tools is also preferred.
