Job Description:
Project Engineer III – Value Engineering (VE)Â
The Value Engineering Project Engineer III leads cross-functional initiatives focused on cost reduction, product optimization, and continuous improvement while maintaining performance, durability, and user value. This role operates within the project leader hierarchy and collaborates closely with global engineering, sourcing, quality, manufacturing, and product management teams to drive VE strategy and execution.Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Lead multiple low to moderately complex Value Engineering projects from concept through implementationÂ
Drive product teardowns, benchmarking, cost modeling, and opportunity identificationÂ
Develop and execute project plans, schedules, and risk mitigation strategiesÂ
Lead technical tradeoff discussions focused on cost, performance, and scheduleÂ
Interface with global suppliers to develop cost-effective design solutions within process capabilitiesÂ
Validate alternative materials, components, and supplier proposalsÂ
Coordinate qualification testing to ensure safety, durability, and performance requirementsÂ
Track project progress and provide regular updates to leadership on savings, risks, and timelinesÂ
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, Manufacturing, Sourcing, Finance, Product Management, etc.) to ensure successful implementationÂ
Support production and continuous improvement initiatives across global manufacturing locationsÂ
Required QualificationsÂ
Bachelor of Science degree in EngineeringÂ
4+ years of relevant engineering experienceÂ
Experience managing product development or Value Engineering projectsÂ
Strong understanding of electromechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processesÂ
Results driven and deadline orientated Â
Ability to manage several simultaneous projects to aggressive schedules and resultsÂ
Ability to handle fast paced, and agile cultureÂ
Experience with DFMA, cost modeling, and root cause analysisÂ
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project leadership skillsÂ
Experience with global suppliers and overseas manufacturing environmentsÂ
Familiarity with CAD tools and simulation techniquesÂ
Experience with teardown benchmarking and cost optimization strategiesÂ
Ability to draft comprehensive test plans and specificationsÂ
10% international travel requiredÂ
