Job Description:

TTI Consumer Power Tools, Inc., in Anderson, SC has an opening for a Reliability Engineer.

The Reliability Engineer’s primary duties are to utilize reliability principles and methods to contribute to the development and qualification of power tool products. The Reliability Engineer will apply multiple analysis techniques to determine and communicate risks/mitigations as well as define the product requirements needed to develop disruptive and market-leading consumer products.

A successful candidate will bring creativity, accountability, and strong experience in requirements definition, validation, manufacturing processes, communication, and data analysis to the new product development team. The candidate enjoys a fast-paced work environment with excellent visibility and growth opportunities with a new team.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be a subject matter expert in the new product development team with respect to product requirements, user needs, and reliability
  • Develop functional requirements from collaboration with product management and participation in user needs research as needed
  • Collaborate with engineering and marketing to define product specifications with respect to all aspects of reliability, quality, and user needs
  • Work with global manufacturing team to identify, quantify, and support mitigation efforts for project risks early in a project
  • Interact with global suppliers that participate in product development
  • Track multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to schedule and the Product Development Process
  • Summarize test results with statistical techniques and present concise, logical, written conclusions
  • Escalate issues found to appropriate leadership levels with clear communication tailored to the intended audience
  • Support projects through launch and consult with issues and findings that occur post launch

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline required) with 2-5 years of experience in similar product development, reliability, test, or quality roles
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and sound statistical application in areas such as design of experiments, sampling techniques, regression, reliability, FMEAs, hypothesis testing, etc.
  • Experience with life data analysis, reliability distributions, and statistical analysis, and related software (e.g. Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull++)
  • Experience with manufacturing auditing and processes
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels with creative problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to travel 10% (includes both domestic and international)
