Anderson University Department of Campus Facilities and Physical Plant invites applications for a 12-month, full-time position as Staff Painter. The Staff Painter serves as a vital member of the Physical Plant team, responsible for performing skilled painting, finishing, maintenance, and repair work on a wide variety of interior and exterior surfaces and structures across campus. This position will plan and prioritize painting projects based on departmental workload, evaluating service requests to determine the appropriate materials, tools, methods, labor, and time required for each project, scheduling work to minimize disruption to campus operations while ensuring projects are completed with exceptional quality and craftsmanship. The position also ensures painting equipment, tools, and supplies are properly maintained and stocked, collaborates with other skilled trades on projects requiring coordinated services, and will monitor work, including record of completed projects for future reference, to ensure compliance with established standards.Â
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with demonstrated knowledge of painting methods, materials, and finishes, including the ability to mix and match paints and recommend the appropriate selection, use, and storage of painting products and equipment. This position also requires the ability to perform physically demanding work, including extended periods of standing, walking, kneeling, climbing, lifting, and other strenuous activities in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
