Sulky's Restaurant and Bar Cook - Full Time (Harrah's Hoosier Park)

JOB SUMMARY

Prepares, seasons and cook’s dishes. 

Directly Supervises: None

HOW YOU WILL CREATE THE EXTRAORDINARY

• Assists with daily preparations and preparations lists on daily basis.

• Cook foodstuffs in quantities according to menu and number of people to be served.

• Prepares produce for service.

• Cuts meat.

• Follows prescribed sanitary safeguards in handling all food and cleaning all surfaces.

• Will abide by all safety requirements as outlined in the Safety Manual or as required by individual departments and/or job functions.

• Other duties as assigned.

   

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficient in English verbal and written.
• Flexible to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• High School Diploma/ GED and one to three months of related experience.
• Must have an outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic attitude. Must be comfortable initiating conversations and a fun environment for guests.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to push/ pull or lift to 25 pounds.
• Ability to bend, stoop, twist, reach, and kneel repetitively.
• Ascend and descend stairs and maintain equilibrium for an extended period.
• Must be able to work from a standing position and/or walking motion for extended period.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Also able to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Can also compute rate, ratio and percent.
• Be able to promote a positive influence in the company and company sponsored events. Maintain a professional work environment with management and staff.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a license from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission.
