Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Welding Shift Lead to oversee daily production and support a team of welders in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring quality standards are met, production goals are achieved, and safety procedures are followed.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on welding experience, leadership ability, and a commitment to maintaining a productive and positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a team of welders during 2nd shift operations
  • Assign daily tasks and monitor workflow to meet production goals
  • Perform MIG welding and assist with complex fabrication as needed
  • Inspect finished welds to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
  • Troubleshoot welding issues and provide guidance to team members
  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Train new employees and provide ongoing coaching to team members
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding production status and challenges

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a welding or fabrication role required
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong MIG welding skills (other welding methods a plus)
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Knowledge of welding safety standards and best practices
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively
