Job description: Infusion Nurse
Infusion Department
- Responsible for administering Chemotherapy, Immunotherapy, Immunoglobulin and Iron.
- Symptom management and patient education.
- Management of Central Line Catheters such as port-a-caths.
- Provide care according to the individualized needs of the patient using the nursing process and in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
Education and Training Requirements
- Associates degree required
- National Nursing License and BLS certification required
- 0 - 1 year experience. 2 - 4 years preferred
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to use problem solving, critical thinking, and priority setting skills
- Oncology experience a plus
- Excellent peripheral IV skills preferable
- ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certificate Course required after one year
- OCN certification required within two years
