Licensed Architect/Architectural Designer at SMRT — Design with Purpose

What You’ll Do:

You’ll guide architectural projects from start to finish, ensuring every detail meets the highest standards of design, performance, and compliance.

  • Lead documentation and design coordination across engineering disciplines
  • Ensure code and standards compliance through thorough research and review
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies throughout the permitting process
  • Manage project communications, including meeting notes, cost estimates, and agency feedback
  • Develop program requirements and oversee construction budgets and schedules
  • Lead the production of construction drawings
  • Facilitate collaboration among project teams, clients, and consultants
  • Uphold quality control standards and conduct peer reviews of complex projects
  • Mentor junior architectural staff and foster professional growth
  • Advance in specialized areas such as Design, Technical Leadership, Sustainability, Project Delivery, and Construction Administration

Requirements

What You Bring:

  • A strong command of construction drawings and document production workflows
  • Confidence leading project meetings with design teams, clients, and consultants
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Commitment to completing the ARE and acquiring an architect's license if not yet licensed
  • Commitment to maintaining continuing education credits for licensure
  • A passion for mentoring and developing junior staff

Requirements:

  • Licensed or actively pursuing licensure in ME, MA, or NY
  • Bachelor of Architecture or equivalent undergraduate degree plus a Master of Architecture
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience
