About the role

SciAps is a small portable instrumentation company located in Andover, MA that provides portable instruments used to identify any element, any compound, or any mineral – anyplace and anytime.

SciAps values employees who can work independently, who are willing to take initiative and make decisions, and who want to work in a positive but demanding team environment to meet their goals without being micro-managed.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Assemble electronic and mechanical assemblies
  • Follow manufacturing and assembly procedures
  • Document instrument build configurations
  • Inspect and test products to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Troubleshoot instruments, sub-assemblies, and PCB’s
  • Meet internal manufacturing schedules
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and workspace in a clean and orderly fashion

Job Requirements:

  • High School completion or equivalent (GED)
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions
  • Familiarity with how hardware and software interact
  • Problem solving skills
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • X-ray, Laser, CCD background a plus
  • Experience reading schematics and operating a digital multi-meter is desired
