Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Andover Branch - Andover, MA 01810Position Type: Part TimeSalary Range: $20.00 - $32.00 HourlyEssential Responsibilities Lead safe, effective, and motivating water fitness classes following YMCA best practices. Adapt exercises to meet participants' varying abilities, fitness levels, health conditions, and goals. Build positive relationships with members and encourage participation and community engagement. Promote water fitness programs to members and the community. Ensure a safe, clean, and organized class environment. Set up, monitor, and properly store all class equipment; report damaged equipment as needed. Maintain accurate attendance and program records. Follow YMCA policies, procedures, and emergency action plans. Assist aquatics staff during emergencies as directed. Communicate class coverage needs and secure qualified substitutes when unable to teach assigned classes. Attend required staff meetings, trainings, and certifications. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsQualifications Must be at least 18 years of age. Current CPR, AED, First Aid, and Oxygen Administration certifications required. Current Water Fitness certification from a nationally recognized organization (AEA preferred) or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire. YMCA Aquatic Safety Assistant certification (or ability to obtain within six months of hire). One year or more of water fitness or group exercise instruction experience preferred. Ability to effectively work with individuals of diverse ages, backgrounds, abilities, and fitness levels. Strong communication, customer service, and relationship-building skills. Demonstrated commitment to YMCA values and member engagement. Degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, or a related field preferred. Â Physical Requirements Ability to safely demonstrate water fitness exercises and techniques. Ability to stand for extended periods and move in and around the pool environment. Ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively in a pool setting. Ability to respond appropriately during emergencies and assist aquatic staff when needed
