Position Summary
The Inventory Quality & Integrity Manager is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, health, and financial integrity of inventory across Capital’s distribution network. This role monitors and analyzes key inventory performance indicators (KPIs), identifies risks related to excess, obsolete, and reserve inventory, and leads corrective actions to optimize inventory investment while maintaining customer service levels.
The position partners closely with Branch Managers, Supply Chain, Procurement, Product Management, Sales, and Finance to ensure inventory and SKU levels align with demand, forecasts, and financial compliance requirements. The role helps prevent operational inefficiencies, reduce financial exposure, and strengthen inventory discipline company-wide.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Quality & Performance
- Monitor and analyze inventory KPIs, including health, usage, aging, turnover, and reserve.
- Ensure inventory and SKU records are accurate, balanced, and sufficient to meet customer demand and forecasts.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, risks, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Communicate significant shifts in demand, inventory position, or SKU performance to Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement and recommend actions.

Branch Inventory Optimization
- Partner with Branch Managers to monitor inventory quality and drive improvement plans.
- Review stock vs. nonstock SKUs and recommend additions or removals based on usage and demand.
- Evaluate excess inventory for redeployment opportunities; initiate transfers and settings adjustments as needed.
- Review low-activity SKUs (0–3 hits) to confirm ongoing need; redeploy, transfer, or adjust settings as appropriate.
- Review buy packs and recommend adjustments based on sales trends and operational efficiency.
Reserve & Obsolete Inventory Management
- Lead Capital’s reserve inventory reduction program.
- Prepare and distribute Top 30 and Future 30 reserve reports monthly.
- Schedule and lead monthly reserve review calls with targeted shipping branches.
- Schedule and lead monthly reserve review calls with Product Managers.
- Develop and execute action plans to reduce reserve and obsolete inventory exposure.

Scrap, Transfers & Controls
- Prepare and process shipping-branch scrap requests in alignment with policy.
- Track approved scrap requests and report activity to Finance monthly.
- Manage the Branch Auto Transfer program to support inventory optimization.
- Generate monthly tagged and committed inventory reports for Sales Management and branches.

Inventory Accuracy & Compliance
- Investigate inventory discrepancies (shortages/overages), perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate, consistent, and reliable inventory data across systems.
- Support financial compliance, audit readiness, and inventory control standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Operations, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in inventory management, operations, or supply chain.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into action.
- Experience managing reserve, excess, and obsolete inventory.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills; comfortable leading reviews and driving accountability.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, inventory reporting tools, and advanced Excel or analytics platforms.
