NVE Inc. is hiring a Stationary Engineer to work full-time at a Federal Facility in Laurel, MD. or over 20 years, NVE has helped federal and commercial clients with technical and support services. This position pays $43.58 per hour and includes great benefits. This includes:

You will work one day shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. This shift schedule helps make sure the facility is always covered during the day.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • 5+ years of experience within the last eight (8) years operating chillers (at least 500 tons) and 125 boiler-horsepower gas-fired boilers
  • Maryland 1st Class Engineer license is required
  • Experience in industrial, laboratory, construction, or commercial building environments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government background investigation (US citizenship required)
  • Ability to read architectural and manufacturing blueprints
  • Functional knowledge of Building Automation Systems and monitoring controls
  • Capable with basic office equipment (cell phone, tablet, telephone, fax, scanner)
  • Willingness to perform both preventive and emergency maintenance as directed

Preferred:

  • Experience with research labs, biosafety (BSL-2/BSL-3), animal research (AAALAC), or Federal facilities
  • EPA Universal CFC License and factory training for different systems

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A STATIONARY ENGINEER

As a Stationary Engineer, you will begin your shift ready to operate and maintain the facility's complex systems, including the building automation system. Throughout the day, you will conduct tours of critical equipment areas, respond to service calls, and perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance. Your tasks will range from changing filters, cleaning coils, and monitoring water chemical treatment, to inspecting belts and bearings and performing major and minor equipment repairs. You will address plumbing issues, support scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and follow all required protocols and standards.
