Job DetailsJob Location: Angola, IN 46703Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: DayCameron Hospital is an independent, not-for-profit facility that proudly serves Angola and Steuben County. Hospital patient registration specialists are responsible for ensuring that all patients that come into a hospital are asked to fill out the correct forms to ensure that they provide the necessary information for their visits. They are tasked with providing patients with assistance in the registration process, answering any questions they may have, and reviewing the information provided to ensure it has been accurately and completely filled out. They are then responsible for inputting the information into the hospital's electronic registration system in a manner that makes it well-organized and easy for physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals to access. Hospital patient registration specialists also use classification software to aid in the process of health insurance classification and reimbursement for patients. Throughout their work, it is essential that hospital patient registration specialists maintain patient confidentiality. DEPARTMENT: Patient Access JOB TITLE: Patient Registrar SHIFT:  FTE 1.0, 80 hours bi-weekly (Monday - Friday 8:30a - 5p with every other weekend rotation)  BENEFITS:  Eligible COMPETITIVE PAY SHIFT PREMIUMS WEEKEND PREMIUMS Job Duties Performs patient access functions by entering correct information into the EMR to facilitate billing processes. Completes cashier functions and performs clerical and administrative duties in the office. Skills Exemplifies good customer service. Interviews/registers all patients upon admission, verifies patient identity using DOB, name, and social security number when registering. Confirms patient demographics, obtains signatures on electronic consent forms, and scans all required documentation into the patients record. Schedules appointments according to clinic template. Collects patient related payments including insurance copays and payment deposits. Prepares daily deposit with report and balances cash drawer. Carries out all duties in a manner consistent with Cameron’s guiding principles and values and according to Cameron’s policies and procedures Requirements Required to take call.   Experience   • Registration/secretarial experience preferred Skills/Competencies • Excellent computer and clerical skills Education Required • High School Diploma/GED Qualifications
