Filled with advanced equipment and skilled specialists, Cameron is a modern, high-tech facility that provides advanced diagnostics, a variety of specialties and cutting-edge treatment options that are combined with highly personalized and compassionate care.   DEPARTMENT: Laboratory JOB TITLE: Phlebotomist SHIFT:  FTE 1.0 (80 hrs bi-weekly)   Summary/Objective To obtain blood specimens by venipuncture and micro-collection. To perform all clerical functions in an accurate and complete manner. To obtain DOT and Non-DOT drug screens and breath alcohol testing. Essential Functions Observes all necessary safety guidelines. Follows departmental policies to correctly identify the patient before any blood specimen is drawn and to correctly label all specimens drawn. Properly prepares any specimens as assigned. Maintains orderly and timely flow of specimens to technical areas. Obtain samples of body fluids for analysis by venipuncture, arterial and capillary punctures or as received from the provider. Obtains DOT and Non-DOT samples as requested Maintains accurate and orderly records, orders, reports, and worksheets. Distributes results to all required physicians and locations in an accurate and timely manner. Guarantees that all information on order requisitions is entered completely and accurately. Assists in the phlebotomy training of new employees.   Qualifications Experience in healthcare field of at least one year preferred   Skills/Competencies Exemplifies internal and external customer service   Education High School diploma or GED Certifications ASCP/AMT phlebotomy certificate at time of hire or ability to obtain in one year. BLS or ability to obtain within one month of date of hire Qualifications
