Filled with advanced equipment and skilled specialists, Cameron is a modern, high-tech facility that provides advanced diagnostics, a variety of specialties and cutting-edge treatment options that are combined with highly personalized and compassionate care.   DEPARTMENT: Med Surg JOB TITLE: Patient Care Technician SHIFT: .6 FTE, 48 hours bi-weekly, Evenings, Six (6) Eight (8) hour shifts, weekend requirement BENEFITS: Non-Eligible  Up to $2500 Sign-on Bonus SHIFT PREMIUMS WEEKEND PREMIUMS   QUALIFICATIONS Previous experience as a patient care tech and/or unit secretary preferred. Certified in BLS within one month of hire date. High school diploma or equivalent.   JOB SUMMARY This dual role position will be trained in both essential job functions/responsibilities for flexibility to meet department needs as directed by the RN. Unit secretary assists with the clerical and administrative duties. Patient care technician assists with patient care and department activities as directed by the RN. Employees are expected to have knowledge of, promote, and support Cameron’s Guiding Principles and Values.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS As Patient Care Tech: Interpersonal Skills: Requires interpersonal communication skills necessary to interact with patients and caregivers on a regular basis. Assisting patients with the activities of daily life Using unit equipment for care, i.e. scales, beds, patient lifts, Vital Sign Monitors. Collecting blood specimens if specifically trained in department assigned Inputting information into patient electronic medical records Informing RN supervisor of abnormal patient assessments. Assisting with daily activities: patient bathing, dressing, eating, walking, and toileting Participating in monitoring that patient safety processes are in place Age specific clinical competency: Exhibits skills necessary to care for child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients including but not limited to CPR techniques and activities of daily living (ADL). Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development for child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Qualifications BLS provider for Healthcare within Excellent communication skills Strong patient relations skills  Education  High School Diploma/ GED  Job related experience: No previous experience required in specialty areas Certifications  Active CPR / BLS Certification is required within the first 30 days of Qualifications
