PURPOSE
Under the guidance of the Project Controls Team Leader, the Cost Engineer will support the project team by developing project specific cost reports, track project cost information, forecast project cost, analyze trends, and participate in project controls reporting on all industrial projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Utilize project schedule, phase to budget information, and procurement plans to create initial baseline WIP plans.Â
- Create Staffing Plans with PM for tracking Project Management WIP Plan
- Utilize Project Schedule for development of Field WIP
- Work with PM on procurement plan to create Procurement WIP
- Utilize Sub WIP to develop overall project WIP
- Update and maintain Project WIP for ongoing monthly Project ReportingÂ
- Create and adjust project specific reporting templates to match project reporting requirements.Â
- Create and maintain Project Specific Phase to Budget Forecasting Template
- Create and maintain Project Specific Cost Reporting Template
- Understand and track phase to budget per project to allow for accurate reporting on project controls monthly reports.Â
- Update Reporting Template to include project changes
- Monthly audit of Phase to Budget to ensure reporting template match project management dashboard.Â
- Utilize Project Specific Phase to Budget Forecasting Tool by inputting actuals, billed information, and Update percent complete per phase code to forecast at completion cost.Â
- Review Information monthly with Project Managers
- Ability to understand and communicate changes and variances from plans.
- Work with team on ensuring work breakdown structure and cost breakdown structure align
- Create and maintain Project Cost reports to be included in monthly owner reports.Â
- Utilize Spectrum and P6 to Create LPI Reports based on earned value and actuals per project.Â
- Verify the accuracy of automated reports
- Research variances in cost reports
- Develop plans to ensure cost reporting on projects can be executed based on the requirements per project.Â
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or the equivalent through experience (typically six years of related progressive work experience)
- Extensive practical experience with MS Office application (Excel, Word, Access)
- At least 2 years of Accounting or Financial industry specific experience.Â
- Ability to understand and communicate Earned Value Concepts
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid driver’s license
- Procore Certifications preferred
