A day in the life…

Wondering what a day in the life of Practice Manager at The Iowa Clinic might look like?

Manages, coordinates and directs the overall operational activities of assigned department(s) including multiple site locations.
Works closely with the physicians and administrative directors in assuming accountability for maintaining high quality cost effective services.
Hires, orients, supervises, evaluates performance, disciplines and terminates staff.
Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations affecting the clinic and assures compliance.
Participates in strategic and long-range planning.
Promotes a positive, professional image of the organization internally and externally.
Assumes accountability for enhancing own knowledge through professional associations, journals, workshops, in-services, etc. to pro-actively keep updated on potential issues affecting the clinic.
Maintains awareness of applicable laws and/or regulations and remains current on changes.
Recognizes implications of applicable laws and/or regulations to the clinic and implements or recommends courses of action to ensure compliance.

This job might be for you if…

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or health care related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

5 years previous supervisory experience in a medical setting preferred.
