We are looking for a Senior Facilities Specialist to join our Team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This is an amazing opportunity to take ownership of the facility, ensuring our employees have a safe, functional, and efficient workplace. You’ll oversee all aspects of building maintenance and operations, with a strong focus on preventive maintenance programs. 

The team supports our full Ann Arbor office and reports to the Manager, Real Estate and Facilities. We have a strong skill set in building systems, contractor oversight, and workplace safety, and we’d love to speak with you if you bring hands-on facilities experience. 

 

About You — Experience, Education, Skills, and Accomplishments 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent, relevant work experience 

  • 2+ years of relevant facilities or building maintenance experience 

  • 2+ years of hands-on HVAC and plumbing experience 

It would be great if you also have: 

  • Experience with carpentry, basic electrical work, and familiarity with maintaining office furniture systems 

  • Experience performing or coordinating building maintenance, inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance 

  • Ability to manage contractors, vendors, service providers, and work order systems 

  • Experience responding to escalations, off-hour calls, and troubleshooting building systems independently 

  • Ability to read and interpret building/facility documentation and regulations 

  • Experience supporting office relocations, MAC (move/add/change) activities, and workspace buildouts 

 

What Will You Be Doing in This Role? 

  • Collaborate with the Manager and leadership team to ensure full building functionality, safety, and compliance 

  • Monitor contractors during maintenance and project work, ensuring quality and timeliness 

  • Assist with emergency and safety issues and respond to escalated employee inquiries and building-related issues to maintain a high-quality workplace experience 

  • Perform daily inspections, document findings, and identify areas for improvement 

  • Identify, schedule, and coordinate all internal and external maintenance activities 

  • Manage vendor relationships, contractor agreements, scope of work and purchase orders through internal procurement to pay system and ensure accurate invoicing and cost center coding. 

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on building equipment and systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry work 

  • Support meeting and event setup, teardown, and operational needs

Our Facilities & Workplace Experience team is responsible for ensuring an exceptional work environment for all employees in the Ann Arbor office. We oversee the full lifecycle of building operations—maintenance, safety, vendor management, space planning, office moves, and employee support. The culture is hands-on, autonomous, and growth-oriented—you’ll have the chance to own your work, develop new skills, and influence how the facility operates. 

 

Hours of Work 

This is a fulltime, permanent position, primarily working core business hours in the local time zone, with occasional adjustments for building needs or off-hour calls. 
This role is onsite due to the nature of facility operations.
