MRI Technologist
Department: MRI
Location: Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital
**Looking for Tech to have Charge Duties on afternoon shift. Charge pay available for taking charge duties.
Position Purpose:
The MRI Technologist is responsible for reviewing the Physician Order and reason for exam, preparing the patient, positioning, and performing MRI imaging of patients.
Shifts Available: Afternoon shift with every other weekend rotation
Status Available: Full Time, 40 hours per week
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited MRI Technologist program
Advanced certification in MRI by ARRT or ARMRIT; OR MRI Registry-eligible with certification within one year of hire
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
One year MRI experience preferred
Must have good working knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
Must be proficient in venipuncture
Must know methods to set up and operate MRI equipment
What the MRI Technologist will do including assisting with Charge duties:
Maintain daily workflow of both inpatient and outpatient exams.
Performs and directs exams to the appropriate conclusion in the absence of a physician by utilizing advanced skills in cross sectional anatomy.
Assist in training both new and current MRI staff on department protocols, procedures and policies.
Perform the duties of an MRI department Ancillary Preceptor and attend required training.
Will be the lead contact in the department on their shift for physicians, ancillary staff and MRI staff.
Assist in the department daily technologist staffing schedule by working with staff to fill UTO call ins.
Communicate patient scheduling modifications clearly with all members of the MR team.
Review the Physician Order and reason for exam.
Prepare the patient, position appropriately, and perform MRI imaging of patients.
Adjust scanning protocols as needed based on the anatomy/physiology presented during the scan.
Work closely with MRI leadership and the Radiologist to produce the most diagnostic images possible in accordance with the department protocols.
Administer contrast media required per specific diagnostic protocols.
Assist the physician/APP with the performance of MRI-guided invasive procedures as needed.
Perform a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, with integrity and initiative and be able to work with minimum supervision.
