About the Role    
This position serves as the front-line point person for the foundation’s daily administrative tasks. This position also serves as a key ambassador for the Community Foundation, often acting as the first point of contact for community members who visit our offices or call us.  

The Receptionist will be part of an Administrative Team within the foundation that enables the other staff teams to achieve their goals, reporting to the Administrative and Facilities Manager. This position is a full-time on-site position, with 8:30 am – 5 pm as the primary work hours. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Provides outstanding customer service to all AAACF constituents, callers, visitors, donors, grantees, applicants, partners, vendors, volunteers, coworkers , and the general public. 
  • Responds to callers and serves as the initial point of contact on behalf of the Foundation. 
  • Welcomes visitors to the office and acts as their initial host, offering refreshments, pointing out the coat closet, and notifying other staff of arrival. 
  • Provides front desk and reception coverage. 
  • Manage and maintain office calendars, schedule staff meetings.  
  • Provides logistics support for hosted events: document prep, room setup and tear down, name tags, refreshments, etc.

The ideal candidate for this position has the following qualifications:  

  • High integrity.  
  • Responsive, patient, and able to handle quick changes in priorities.  
  • Personable and approachable with a pleasant, helpful demeanor.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Keen emphasis on precision and attention to detail.  
  • Strong organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work onsite full-time from 8:30 am – 5 pm. 
  • Familiarity with Washtenaw County issues, nonprofits, donors, and communities is preferred, but not required.
