SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range for this role is $85,000 to $110,000 annually. This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.Ā

SUMMARY

The Supplier Quality Engineer will work closely with our suppliers and purchasing group to focus on our drive to be the highest delivered quality class II UAV in the industry. This position is responsible for strategic quality systems, investigating, analyzing and correcting problems in quality, production and control at a supplier locations as well as perform audits and implementing new strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may be assignedĀ otherĀ duties.Ā 

  • Lead the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing and technology capabilities.Ā 
  • Advise and support Quality Technicians on day-to-day production issues and process controls.Ā 
  • Collect and evaluate supplier quality data toĀ identifyĀ process improvement opportunitiesĀ 
  • within the supply chain.Ā 
  • Work with suppliers directly to create corrective action plans to address process failures.Ā 
  • Communicate and instruct suppliers on the use of corrective action process and quality toolsĀ 
  • and techniques.Ā 
  • Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvementĀ 
  • and value enhancement opportunities.Ā 
  • Regularly communicate with Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain teamĀ 
  • members internallyĀ toĀ identifyĀ opportunities for quality and productivity improvement.Ā 
  • Collect,Ā maintain, and report on supplier performance metrics.Ā 
  • Participate in Engineering Change meetings to ensure awareness to design changes,Ā 
  • document engineering changesĀ in accordance withĀ AS9102 First Article Inspection process.Ā 
  • Regularly visit suppliers andĀ assistĀ the supply chain group in conducting supplier audits.Ā 
  • Prepare,Ā updateĀ and coordinate incoming inspection plans.Ā 
  • Create, issue and complete Supplier Corrective Action requests.Ā 
  • Support ECN implementations with assigned suppliers.Ā 
  • Provide support and analysis on special projects as assigned.Ā

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:Ā 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or related field (additional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)Ā 
  • 3+ years of related experienceĀ 
  • Knowledge of quality assurance principles, methods, and processesĀ 
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environmentĀ 
  • Experience in developing part certification processes (PPAP) and vendor quality measures.Ā 
  • Knowledge and experience in aerospace standards AS9100, ISO-9001Ā 
  • Experience with AS9102 FAI processes.Ā 
  • Knowledge of mechanical, composite, and electrical systems and components.Ā Ā 
  • Proficient in quality analysis tools such as 8D, SPC, PFMEA, and others.Ā 
  • Strong problem-solving skills.Ā 
  • Knowledge of fabrication-based quality control methods,Ā toolsĀ and techniques.Ā Ā 
  • Strong engineering analysis skills, as well as data analysis and reporting.Ā 
  • Strong communication, presentation, and team building skills.Ā Ā 
  • Manages time effectively,Ā remainsĀ organized in all circumstances.Ā Ā 
  • Self-motivated withĀ a high levelĀ of initiative.Ā Ā 
  • MustĀ be able to travel on an occasional basis.Ā

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
